Common questions about will writing sheffield
Do I need a solicitor to write a will?
No — in England and Wales a will is valid as long as it's in writing, signed, and witnessed by two independent adults. Using a specialist will writer helps make sure the wording is legally sound and nothing important is missed.
How much does will writing cost?
Costs depend on how straightforward your estate and wishes are. We'll always give you a clear, fixed price before any work begins — call 08000 885 368 for a free, no-obligation quote.
What happens if I die without a will?
Your estate is distributed under the rules of intestacy, which follow a fixed legal order and may not reflect your actual wishes — especially for unmarried partners, step-children or charities.
Can I update my will later?
Yes. We recommend reviewing your will every few years, or after any major life event such as marriage, divorce, a house move, or the birth of a child or grandchild.
Do you offer home visits?
Yes, we can visit you at home across Sheffield and the surrounding areas, or you're welcome to meet us at our office at Aizlewoods Mill.
